Karen .M. Gonzalez

Trauma Informed Parent Educator

"Helping hurting families heal from traumatic experiences"

About Me

Rebuilding my life

From survivor to educator and advocate

Karen became an educator and advocate after her own life experiences that changed her life and career path. When violence happens, it’s hard to imagine how you could live your life again. Learning about trauma is essential to healing yourself and your children. She has overcome the obstacles and challenges of domestic violence and knows what it takes to heal one’s life. She truly believes that it is possible to heal with hope, love, faith, awareness, and education.

Now she works with others to help them gain an understanding in how trauma impacts our daily lives and our parenting. Based on the latest research on the brain and attachment, you can also learn how to recognize trauma in yourself and others.  If you would like to book a consultation for any of the services offered send a message to karen@hhrcenter.org

Founder

Innovating the way services are provided

As Karen was going through her own struggle she noticed the lack of care and compassion given to survivors. In 2013 Karen founded her own ministry and organization named Helping Hands Resource Center. She not only innovated the way services were provided and rendered but has challenged others to extend a helping hand to our hurting neighbors ever since then.

Helping Hands Resource Center helps families with the basic necessities needed to move forward with rebuilding their lives during or after a traumatic experience.  Check out the organization and join the movement of change. Created by survivor, for survivors.
